CMEA Membership Benefits

Over the next few months I will be writing about the many benefits that are available to you as a member of CMEA. This may be a bit redundant for some.

However, as I have discovered in my travels, there has been significant turnover in HR leadership over the past several months. So a review of benefits will be very timely.

I will start with what is by far our most important and valuable benefit. That would be the incredible legal team at Skoler, Abbott and Presser. Each member of CMEA, as part of your annual dues, receives an hour of free time with the Skoler team. How you use this resource is up to you. The time isn’t limited to any specific area of HR Law. You can get assistance in a myriad of ways.

Many of our members have used this resource over the last several months to better understand the different Covid 19 pieces of legislation, others to clarify Paid Family Medical Leave. Several have used the time to improve handbook policies that have become outdated or irrelevant. While a large group have tried to comprehend the many challenges that the Federal Family Medical Leave Act creates for a business.

For those that didn’t participate in our fall webinar series, these same attorneys provided CMEA members with incredible FREE legal guidance on some very important topics. Where can you go to get legal advice that costs as little as a CMEA membership?
