President’s Place – A Note from Brad Campbell

Good morning everyone.

I hope that you are all well and have enjoyed the early taste of spring weather.

I’m pleased to invite you to April’s CMEA webinar provided by Skoler and Abbott – Reopening the Workplace.

Our programs have been scheduled for Tuesday April 27th at 12:30pm for an hour. If you would prefer attending on April 27th please let me know and I will send you the invite for that meeting. I’m making an effort to reduce the amount of e-mail you need to respond to.

We have Skoler and Abbott Attorney Amelia Holstrom with us this month to share some thoughts on RE-opening the workplace. This has become a hot topic as we see many of the Co-Vid 19 restrictions being lifted by Governor Baker. Many in manufacturing have been at work through the pandemic as essential workers, however office workers in those facilities have been working from home.

As businesses look to return to a more normal workplace, what should be done to insure a safe working environment? How do employers respond to those employees that may have concerns with returning to an office environment or refuse to be vaccinated? How do you protect workers without discriminating against others? Are there ADA, OSHA or other regulations that need to be considered as part of your return to work strategy? Is requiring mandatory vaccinations something you may need to do? How do other companies policies, that you delivery goods to, affect your strategy?

We will begin to look at these concerns as well as others in this session. It is very likely that our May webinar will continue this conversation.
