Deana Tuefferd, President of CMEA The Employers Association, is an accomplished Human Resources professional with over 17 years of diverse experience that spans start-ups to established organizations, as both a consultant and a corporate professional. She specializes in leading strategic HR initiatives for organizations including talent development, talent acquisition, HR policy design, compliance, and compensation. She has an entrepreneurial spirt, and thrives on solving complex HR challenges and creating dynamic and efficient high performing teams.
In her current role at CMEA, Deana is responsible for implementing the strategic vision and overseeing the operations of the organization. Prior to joining CMEA, Deana joined E Ink Corporation in a management role at a pivotal stage of the company’s growth. She was an integral part of building the HR infrastructure and responsible for leading the talent acquisition strategy to increase the workforce from 100-400 employees globally. Previous to E Ink, Deana held a Director position at Leading Educators where she managed the HR, IT, and Finance functions in a start–up environment with a remote workforce. Prior to Leading Educators, she joined XOS Technologies’ management team to integrate an acquisition, align related HR programs, and assist in a due diligence process to secure funding.
Deana holds a BS in Counseling from the University of Florida and an MEd in Organizational Psychology from Cambridge College. She is certified as a co-mediator in the Commonwealth of MA, and a qualified MBTI Inventory Assessment administrator.
Director of HR Services
As both a consultant and corporate HR professional, Donna Currie brings over 20 years of human resources experience to CMEA as the Director of HR Services. Donna’s breath of experience encompasses all areas of HR, including employee relations, management consulting, recruiting, HR compliance, employee benefits, and PEO services. Her experience spans several industries including manufacturing, legal, healthcare, non-profit, and professional services. As an HR professional, Donna’s strong analytical skills have allowed her to easily assess new cultures, and excel in a consulting capacity. She brings strong research and project management skills to her roles.
In her role at CMEA, Donna is responsible for developing and implementing new HR programs and managing consulting projects. Previous to CMEA, Donna ran her own independent consulting firm, providing HR services and support to a range of clients in the Central MA area. She held management positions at New England Business Media, XCEL HR, and Vital Emergency Medical Services, driving both strategic and operational responsibilities.
Donna holds a BA in Industrial Psychology from Nichols College and an MA in HR Management from Framingham State University. She has her SHRM-SCP certification through the Society of Human Resource Management.
Director of Member Services
Joe Ciulla, Director of Member Services at CMEA, brings over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry with a focus on building quality group insurance plans for his clients. Whether it be analyzing the company’s medical plan or reviewing the retirement plan, Joe and his team thoroughly analyze the plans and offer tailored solutions to meet each organizations specific goals and objectives. Joe’s goal is to protect, grow and save money for his clients, so they can focus on maintaining a productive and happy workforce. In his role at CMEA, Joe educates both current members, and prospective members on CMEA’s value to their organizations.
Joe holds a BA in History from Columbia University. Joe is a Board member and past President of the North Suburban Chamber of Commerce and the Woburn Business Association. He also serves as a Board member on the Columbia Alumni Association of Boston.
